**About Us**
Our Surgeon is a delightful O&G who has a lovely warm manner. Currently practicing in Public Health during COVID and is now moving back to the Private arena.
Our practice will be at the opening stages at the beginning of March and we want to give you time to get up to speed, so commencement would be ideally mid-February. We are seeking a caring and professional healthcare Secretary/Practice Assistant with excellent organisation and administrative skills to become part of our team. Our Surgeon will be mainly based at North Shore Private Hospital.
**About You**
You will be performing a gatekeeper role to our lovely Surgeon - so communication is key You love to wow our patients with your professional presentation, whether verbally, written, or in person and your delightful personality (this cannot be overstated). And you understand the importance of empathy and support for our patients.
**Duties and responsibilities**
As our Medical Secretary/Practice Assistant, you will be responsible for facilitating the flow of patients into and out of the medical practice (from meet and greet to back office tasks). You will be the first point of contact and pivotal to our practice.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing platinum service to patients on the phone and in person
- Managing theatre bookings, billing and quoting (no gap, known gap and AMA rates)
- Gentu Medical Software (experience viewed favourably)
- Preparing consulting rooms for consulting sessions, including stock control
- Having previous medical secretarial experience including managing consulting sessions, debt collection, maintaining Medicare and DVA fees schedules
- Urgent typing only (skills to do this viewed highly - main typing outsourced)
- Good IT skills
- General office administration
- Using your creativity and experience to create more efficient medical processes and procedures
- An extremely friendly, professional, dignified and kind manner to all people with whom you deal with assisting them in their challenging clinical issues
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Amazing organisational skills
- Medical secretarial background, along with experience with higher duties, ideally having experience with Gentu practice software, and having worked within a Specialist practice
- Motivation to assist in growing and improving our practice
- Who is comfortable using and learning new software -Gentu
- Who demonstrates initiative with warmth and strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Who values and fosters a supportive and respectful workplace culture
- Being experienced working with various health funds and Medicare
- Have a capacity to perform well in a boutique practice environment,
- Experience using medical practice management software (Gentu) is desirable - but everything can be taught. Most importantly, we want to find someone who can provide great customer service & learn along the way.
