**Position Summary**

The Brite Plants Team Leader, in conjunction with other Plants Team Leaders, has responsibility for the achievement of production goals and meeting deadlines for customer orders. In particular, the Brite Plants Team Leader:

- Leads a work team.
- Ensures production goals at the required level of quality.
- Maintains safety and quality standards.
- Supports employees to achieve their individual goals.
- Contributes to maintaining quality accreditation.

Position Responsibilities

**Production**
- Meet production requirements such as sowing seed, cuttings, division of stock and potting.
- Organise appropriate equipment, materials, and machinery to run production.
- Liaise with Plants Team to meet production requirement for contract grown stock.
- Ordering of materials to ensure production can continue, liaise with Plants Manager and Plants Team in relation to ordering supplies.
- Monitors production processes and where necessary modifies to improve efficiency.
- Run production via potting machine and complete all check lists in line with NIASA requirements, report any issues with potting machine for repair or maintenance.
- Provide assistance regarding production and propagation requirements and any issues that arise.
- Monitor production and ensure stock is labelled correctly before leaving stock production areas.
- Ensure stock movements are recorded according to Brites’s procedures.
- Follows safety policies and procedures and maintains safety standards.
- Monitors and maintains quality standards.
- Trouble shoots and problem solves routine day to day operational matters.
- Liaises with the Brite Plants Manager and Team leaders to ensure a smooth flow of information and product to achieve production goals.
- Maintain an aesthetically pleasing working area.

**Employee Support**
- Ensures work team provides work that meets quality standards.
- Provides encouragement and guidance to work team.
- Delivers on the job training and support to the work team in conjunction with Service Delivery team members.
- Maintains accurate and objective case notes.
- Maintains the attendance role.
- Develops, implements, monitors and reviews strategies in collaboration with employees to help them identify and meet their employment and training goals.
- Administers first aid assistance when required (or direct to a qualified First Aider)
- Proactively identifies and addresses barriers to meeting individual employee needs within the workplace.
- Advocates on behalf of employees on request
- Actively upholds, supports, and promotes the right of employees in the workplace.
- Liaises with Service Delivery to address any employee needs or requirements for work related matters.
- Upholds the requirements of the Disability Service Standards and the Disability Act

**Accreditation and Quality Management**
- Work within Brite’s quality system, contractual arrangements, and legal requirements.
- Comply with current responsibilities and requirements of the quality system, regulations and organisational policies, quality procedures and working instructions applicable to job activities.
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement through the completion of Continuous Improvement Reports.
- Maintain and complete all relevant NIASA related checklists (spray logs, quality checks, pest and weed identification checklists etc.)

**Contributing to Occupational Health and Safety processes**
- To report all hazards, incidents, and injuries in accordance with legislation, and Brite Services VVRA reporting procedures.
- Ensure liaison with Health and Safety Representatives, Managers, Team Members and Supported Team Members regarding OHS issues.
- Wear and use protective safety equipment when identified as appropriate.
- Ensure all necessary PPE are always worn by team members under supervision.
- Ensure all production machinery maintained in good order and cleaned. Plants Manager is to be notified where machinery is not in working order.
- Ensure all machinery operational checks are completed daily.
- Participate in programs and assessments to improve health and safety in the workplace.
