**Position Summary**

**Working at Brite**

Working at Brite often requires working alongside vulnerable people. Due to the nature of our work, we require all team members to complete an NDIS Screening Clearance Check and Working with Children Check.

Operations
- Operate café with a proficient skill level and basic coffee knowledge including, extraction/brewing, grinding, espresso making and milk steaming and pouring.
- Work, Health, and Safety knowledge.
- Other duties as required.

General
- Positively and pro-actively represent Brite to external contacts at all opportunities.
- Behave in a way that contributes to a workplace that is free from discrimination, harassment and bullying or intimidating behaviour at all times.
- Operate in line with Brite policies, procedures, and work practices (e.g., financial, human resources, etc.)

Contributing to Occupational Health and Safety processes
- To be fully aware of and comply with current responsibilities and requirements of the OHS Act 2004, regulations and organisational policies, quality procedures and working instructions applicable to their activities.
- To report all hazards, incidents, and injuries in accordance with legislation, and Brite Services VVRA reporting procedures.
- Ensure liaison with employee health and safety representatives and supervisors and staff in regard to OHS issues.
- Wear and use protective safety equipment when identified as appropriate.
- Participate in programs and assessments to improve health and safety in the workplace.

**Authority**

The Café Lead delegates appropriate and adequate authority to the Café Coordinator to:

- Manage the café in their absence.

The Café Coordinator will make decisions only within the limits endorsed by the Café Lead.

**Key selection criteria**
- Basic food handling skills (Safe food handling certificate), and cooking skills.
- Minimum 2+years’ experience working in a hospitality and/or café environment.
- Experience with catering is highly regarded.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to facilitate teamwork and foster cooperation using influence, tact, and discretion.
- Highly flexible, creative problem solver, with a strong ability to prioritise multiple, and on occasion, competing priorities.
- Consistently exhibit integrity, composure, common-sense and good judgment under pressure.
- Experience and/or comfortable working with people of varying abilities is highly regarded.

**Additional requirements**
- Willing to undertake relevant NDIS Worker Clearance Screening and Working with Children Clearance.
