**Factory Team Leader - Role Description**

**About us**

Eco Benchtops is one of the only Australian manufacturers of solid benchtops that perform like engineered stone. They are unique because:

- it is crystalline silica free and therefore safer for fabricators and consumers and
- is made in Australia from 80% recycled glass so is more sustainable than engineered stone

The business is privately owned and located in Broadmeadows Melbourne.

Our hours of operation are 6am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday to meet customer orders as needed. We are also an equal opportunity employer

**Role Purpose**
- To be 2IC for the Factory Manager
- Work closely with the Factory Manager to shadow all tasks and learn each area of the role.
- Support production targets and continuous improvements to our product

**Accountabilities**
- Step in as acting manager when Factory Manager is absent
- Be across inventory management, production schedule, quality improvements, safety compliance, timesheets
- Lead by examples for the factory team with a hands-on approach
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and quality outcomes.
- Operate machinery and equipment according to safety and quality guidelines and standard operating procedures, namely
- Hydraulic Press
- Chemical mixers, weighing scales
- Belt Sander
- Hand held tools: Orbital Polisher & Sander
- Operate Forklift (licensed driver) to:

- Load and unload trucks with orders & raw material deliveries.
- Equip & operate multiple forklift attachments frequently.
- Conduct daily prestart checks on the machine.
- Loading & unloading mold trays from machinery.
- Moving stock throughout the factory.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sweeping, mopping, and disposing of waste materials.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.

**Key Relationships**
- Reports to Factory Manager
- Factory team: 3 people

**Personal Specification**
- High school Certificate or equivalent, ability to speak and read English
- Current Forklift License (preferred)
- Project Management (preferred)
- Previous experience in a production environment (preferred)
- Teamwork: Ability to communicate, show initiative, follow instructions and work effectively in a team setting.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot problems and implement solutions efficiently is valuable.
- Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and procedures.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Pay: $38.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

- Day shift

Supplementary Pay:

- Overtime pay

**Experience**:

- Factory: 1 year (preferred)
