**The Role**
Information Sciences Division is seeking a brilliant scientist/engineer to join its team working at the intersection of machine intelligence and information warfare.
The researcher will be working with a team of developers to create novel synthetic environments and to scientifically and rigorously evaluate intelligent agents in these environments.
In this role you will:
- Demonstrate a high level of initiative, scientific integrity and pragmatism.
- Be expected to engage with collaborators within DSTG, in academia or in industry in order to deliver Defence-related S&T outcomes.
- Be able to make contributions to the science and technologies associated with dynamic learning environments for machine intelligence and are expected to influence strategic decisions about the science and technologies that will have the greatest Defence impact.
**About our Team**
Information Warfare Command and Control (IWC2) STC conducts research and development of command and control (C2) technologies for fighting in and through the contested information environment.
Information warfare (IW) occurs within the machine, and necessitates an approach that relies heavily on autonomous operation of cyber, EW and influence operations capabilities, under the oversight of a human command element.
IWC2 research themes include:
- Information warfare C2 paradigms
- Antifragile multi-agent architectures
- Autonomous control methodologies
- Machine-human integration
- Causal modelling
- Scalable and elastic coordination technologies.
We seek to collaborate with others working in similar areas so as to increase critical mass and achieve maximal impact for Defence.
You will need to have demonstrated the ability to:
- Work with both internal and external collaborators to deliver S&T outcomes;
- Recognise research challenges and pursue solutions;
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, team members and collaborators;
- Work with limited guidance.
