**The Role**
- Deploy - Directly work with the researcher on cutting edge computational Research and Trial Systems, Specialised data and Experimental System Design.
- Chair an advisory board for the connecting of scientific equipment that offers a customised solution that meets the research requirement.
- Individual and unique research environments, very specialised for research purposes connecting to scientific equipment.
- Understand the intent of the research, non-patterned commodity ICT offering customised specifically for research.
- Design and maintain new, novel and emerging research systems.
- Working with often ambiguous scientific equipment interfaces.
- Reconfiguring highly technical research components into scientific computing infrastructure.
- Work closely with Architecture, Security, Infrastructure Operations to ensure security and infrastructure compliance.

Digital Science and Scientific Computing (DSSC) enables and accelerates Defence and National Security Science & Technology through leadership, facilitated access to digital research capabilities, eResearch techniques, and by provisioning secure Digital Science capabilities supported by digital research infrastructure.
Within DSSC, the Laboratory & Experimental Systems (LES) Directorate enables and accelerates Defence S&T by: facilitating the secure, effective and efficient management of laboratory, synthetic, permanent-remote and segregated Digital Science environments; and by facilitating access to secure temporary-remote Digital Science environments.
