Communication and Engagement Lead

**About the role**:
As one of two Communication and Engagement Leads, you’ll guide a talented group of professionals delivering creative and strategic communication, engagement and event support campaigns that connect with our community and build Council’s reputation. You’ll develop business partner relationships and coordinate communication and engagement across the organisation, ensuring messages are clear, timely, and impactful. This role suits a proactive leader with sharp planning skills, excellent relationship management and a passion for meaningful communication and engagement.
This role is focused on responsibilities to support two of our four organisational divisions - Corporate Services and Sustainable Communities and Environment and works alongside another Communication and Engagement Lead who supports the Engineering and Planning and Regulation divisions. The diverse responsibilities cover key functions of a corporate communication and engagement team including communications (external and internal), brand and marketing, community engagement, and event support and promotion.

- Coordinate campaigns and schedules to ensure messaging is clear, timely, and aligned with strategic goals.
- Champion communication, community engagement, and event support by driving participation through well-planned initiatives and strong business partnerships.
- Use your political awareness and planning skills to manage priorities and build trusted relationships.
- Bring flexibility, creativity, and attention to detail—plus a readiness to occasionally work outside standard hours.
