We are seeking an experienced Compliance Officer for an immediate start with one of our clients within our local councils.

Start: ASAP

Length: Ongoing

Hours: (38 hours per week)

**The Role**

Key responsibilities include:

- Ensure initial and follow up inspections are carried out as directed
- Attend to complaints from the public
- Initiate appropriate actions for non-compliance
- Carry out an annual door knock pertaining to animal registrations
- Patrol and enforce on and off leash areas in public places and parks
- Administrative tasks, correspondence and communication with various stakeholders

**Experience Required**
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience administering legislation relating to Local Government, including but not limited to the Local Government Act, Dog and Cat Management Act, Australian Road Rules, Local Nuisance and Litter Control Act and Council By-laws, or demonstrated practical experience working with and interpreting legislation.
- Solutions orientated, highly self-motivated and passionate about delivering positive community outcomes and a great customer experience.
- Well-developed time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks in a busy work environment.
- Experience in developing high quality correspondence, including statement taking, officer reports, letters and statutory notices.
- Demonstrated experience working in a team environment and contributing to a high performing team culture.
- Current C Class Drivers License
- A commitment to building and maintaining personable and professional relationships with a positive outlook, including the ability to handle and effectively resolve customer conflict.
