**About the role**
The **L & D Specialist** is a newly created position which will focus on the design and facilitation of training programs across the company. You will be collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders across all layers of Abergeldie.
This role will identify, develop, deliver, measure and report on modern training initiatives designed to build business capability. You will be a Subject Matter Expert and support key business leaders to ensure key learning and development activities are effectively supported and delivered as per Abergeldie's strategy and business needs.
**Your responsibilities**
- Contribute to and assist in the development of Abergeldie’s capabilities, and individual knowledge and skill development of our people
- Support, co-ordinate, manage and facilitate Abergeldie’s learning programs and projects identified through business and learning needs processes
- Design, coordinate, facilitate, implement, and evaluate learning development programs using adult learning principles and methodologies
- Contribute to and assist in the annual review of all learning offerings for currency, relevance, suitability in alignment of strategic objectives
- Assist in the implementation and ongoing administration and management of all learning and development systems and processes
- Ensure all necessary compliance, core company training, job related certifications and competence requirements are delivered, tracked, and reported
- Coordinate the graduate and intern programs
- Prepare and provide monthly reports on all learning programs
**What you need**
- Minimum Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Degree in adult education, HR, Business or similar (desirable)
- Extensive experience within a Learning & Development function ideally in the civil construction industry but not mandatory
- Understanding of adult education theories, principles, and methodologies
- Experience in performing business and learning needs assessment and analysis.
- Facilitation of learning and development programs across a diverse range of participants - entry level employees to senior leaders.
- Experience in instructional design including e-learning development
- Experience in design and delivery of system-based training programs
- Knowledge of the vocational training system in relation to Traineeships /apprenticeships along with ticket/certificate requirements for site-based roles.
