Downer Rail and Transit Systems Business Unit has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Fleet Specialist to join our team. Our Rail & Transit Systems (RTS) business provides a range of end to end, innovative transport solutions including: - Rolling Stock Design, manufacture and maintenance - Rolling Stock system engineering and integration - Through Life Support engineering and maintenance services **Education & Qualifications**: - Mandatory - Meet the requirements of a Rail Safety Worker - Mechanical, Electrical Tertiary Engineering qualification or other relevant trade qualification. **In this role you will have**: - Experience in the maintenance of complex electrical and mechanical systems, the use of PC based fault diagnostic tools, and implementation of reliability programs in a rolling stock, asset management or heavy maintenance industry. - Experience dealing with customers on fleet performance & reliability matters. - Able to effectively and productively manage time coupled with good communication skills and demonstrated IT aptitude. - Experience working in Rail industry (>5 years) preferred but not essential. **Knowledge of**: - Highly developed oral and written communication skills, including the ability to conduct detailed investigations, provide clear and decisive results and written reports. - Be dynamic and able to think and act quickly to re - prioritise workload to respond to fleet and operational changes. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide rapid and effective engineering support to management and trade staff. - Knowledge of applicable RAMS standards and established RAMS targets for new/existing rolling stock. - Solid knowledge of formal engineering change processes and reliability improvement processes. - Knowledge and understanding of rolling stock electrical and mechanical systems. - Knowledge of relevant Australian and international rolling stock standards. - Knowledge of engineering processes, including failure-reporting and investigations. **What we offer**: - Competitive remuneration, with on-going training and support - Employee benefits and wellness program - Work on key rollingstock projects with an industry leader Downer does not accept any unsolicited resume referrals from Recruitment Agencies.
