**The Role**

We are seeking an APS6 Data Analyst, who will be instrumental in helping shape, change, and deliver a data management roadmap for various workforce activities across Joint Capabilities Group (JCG). As the Data Analyst in HQ Workforce & Culture, you will support the team and our stakeholders in defining and implementing a data journey aligned with our strategic objectives.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Provide workforce analytics and reporting to enable informed decision making on matters relating to workforce.
- Analyse and interpret information, undertake research, review internal and external trends, identifying emerging issues and risks to organisational capability to provide advice, explanation and recommendations on appropriate actions and solutions.
- Experience in data models and reporting packages such as Power BI to design and build interactive and visually appealing dashboards and insightful reports.
- Investigating and analysing data to identify errors and system issues and work with relevant areas to implement remedial action which continually improves data reliability and quality.
- Maintain an appreciation and understanding of the business, its challenges, and objectives and develop strong client and team relationships to ensure analytics effectively reflect needs and meet client requirements.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of best practice in industry and technological developments in workforce analysis to increase the effectiveness of systems and analytics in an environment of constant change and where practice is constantly improving.
- Coaching non-data experts how to use and interpret workforce data sets.
- Assist with the evaluation of workforce initiative and programs impacting the Group by analysing performance data against planned outcomes.

Headquarters Joint Capabilities Group (HQJCG) is the hive of Joint Capabilities Group. Our team keeps things humming across the Group by providing high level support to the Group Head, the Chief of Joint Capabilities (CJC) delivering various corporate functions. We direct and coordinate Group strategy and operations across the nine Commands, Divisions and Elements within the Group, and collaborate Defence wide to achieve JCG and Enterprise outcomes. The Data Analyst will be an integral team member within the Workforce and Culture Directorate.
