Electromagnetic Warfare and Intelligence Systems (EWIS) Land Systems Program Office (Land SPO) is seeking an experienced security professional to join our team as an APS 6 Security Advisor.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake complex security work within an integrated workforce. We require a self-starter who is able to work both in a team and under limited supervision. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a positive security culture and environment for activities, information and personnel.

The Security Advisor will be responsible for providing security assistance and advice to all members of the EWIS Land SPO. The Security Advisor will actively manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships and will be required to identify relevant stakeholders’ expectations and concerns to develop, and communicate methodologies and practices to achieve outcomes. The Security Advisor will develop and maintain close links with a range of other Defence and Defence Industry security partners. As the Land SPO security SME, you will require a working knowledge of the Defence Security Policy Framework and/or Protective Security Policy Framework and be prepared to promote the implementation of policies, procedure, and governance in support of Defence’s mission and business objectives. The Security Advisor will be required to engage and communicate to identify, respond and provide advice on issues to achieve outcomes.

- Provide detailed security, technical, and professional advice;
- Have the capacity to think strategically and develop plans and processes to enhance the security posture of Land SPO;
- Knowledge of and ability to provide advice on security incidents that is in accordance with the Defence Security Policy Framework (DSPF);
- Work collaboratively with EWIS Land stakeholders to support the achievement of outcomes;
- Highly developed communication skills;
- Ability to set work priorities and manage workflows; and
- Able to work both in a team and under limited supervision.
