**A 9-month parental leave cover opportunity starting from August/September** has become available in our Health Strategy, Insights & Innovation team, within our Bupa Health Services ADF contract.

Reporting into the General Manager, Health Strategy, Insights and Innovation, this can be either a
**remote or hybrid** role and can be based out of our Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane office locations when not working from home or remotely.

The position will be part of a team working on delivering improved health and functional outcomes for members of the ADF through identification of unwarranted variation across the ADF HSC ecosystem based on data, evidence and health system insights.

**How will I help?
Key accountabilities include but are not limited to:

- Leading and project managing the strategic health insights work program including the design and development of specific data analytics methodologies, systems and tools critical to the successful implementation of the program
- Working closely with the data analytics team to improve the quality of data collection and data analytics, routine reporting and identifying through insights the actions needed to positively improve health outcomes and value for Defence
- Delivering, reporting, embedding and optimising a range of surveys (Patient Reported Experience Measures and Satisfaction) that measure ADF personnel’s experience and satisfaction with health services
- Provision of insights to support the joint continuous improvement and low value care programs between Defence and Bupa
- Supporting Bupa’s aspirations to drive value-based health care and value for money for Defence
- Assisting in the operational performance and continuous improvement of the service provision capabilities of the business through supporting the standardised collection and use of quality data and evidence
- Facilitating the Data Working Group and the Complaints and Clinical Incidents Data Working Group with the goals of improving the administrative, governance and delivery of data between Defence and Bupa
- Fostering and supporting a learning environment that embeds data and insights into the ADF ecosystem

**What do I need?**
- Relevant qualification in public health, data analytics or biostatistics
- Experience with linking data and information through to actionable insights within the health sector
- Demonstrated experience working with administrative datasets in the health environment including the ability to contribute to a wide range of activities including the development of routine operational reporting, data models, establishing baseline measurement for quality improvement initiatives
- Experience effectively communicating between both technical and business stakeholders
- Knowledge and experience implementing surveys and reporting of both quantitative and qualitative survey results
- Knowledge and experience of measurement activities including low value care, reducing unwarranted variation and health outcome measurement
- Able to work across organisational structures and within a cross-functional team, while balancing across multiple programs of work
- Clear thinker - ability to connect pieces of work from across the business to reduce duplication of efforts
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work autonomously and take accountability for deliverables and outcomes
