**Position Purpose**
As an Events and Administration Assistant, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of some of the Sydney Royal Competitions. You will work closely with the Events Manager and contribute to a wide range of tasks that are integral to the event's success. This contract role will run through April 2026, including key pre-Show, Show, and post-Show periods.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Deliver exceptional customer service by managing and addressing Exhibitor concerns promptly.
- Perform office administration, including word processing, organising invitations, maintaining spreadsheets, updating presentations, and proofreading Competition materials.
- Handle data entry for awards, sales, and exhibitor records, and ensure timely notifications.
- Respond to all enquiries, escalating or redirecting issues as required
- Assist in physical tasks related to event setup and teardown, including handling exhibits, tables, and other display items.
- Manage sales and transactions, including cash handling, EFTPOS, and register operations.
- Demonstrate strong character, organisational skills, and work habits to set a positive example.
- Support the Events Manager and team to ensure effective event delivery.
**What we’re looking for**
- ** Qualifications**: Relevant experience or qualification in administration, event management, or hospitality is preferred.
- ** Experience**: Background in events, administration, or hospitality, with proven multitasking, customer service, and cash handling skills.
- ** Skills**: Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to thrive under pressure.
