**Your new company**
This Federal Government Department works to protect Australia's interests on both a National and International stage. Currently they are working to develop a national data security action plan to better protect Australia's data across all sectors, and building partnerships with key stakeholders both nationally and internationally. This team is defined by commitment, drive and creativity, and are seeking multiple policy officers to support these efforts.

**Your new role**
You will be engaged within a team that prides itself on their quality culture and strong track records of delivering high profile and complex work. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Support the identification and research of current and emerging policy issues;
- Support the development and analysis of policy options and recommend solutions to policy problems, including policy and legislative solutions and risk management approaches;
- Support productive working relationships with a range of policy, program, community engagement, communications, legal, financial and other colleagues within the department and across the whole of government;
- Assist in drafting high quality briefing material for senior executives, including contributing to National Security Committee and Cabinet submissions;
- Assist in reviewing existing policy and developing new policy to align with Government priorities; and
- Assist in monitoring implementation of existing programs/policies and initiate reviews and/or evaluation to inform future policy development.

- Engage with and review existing legislation and policy
- Support the development high quality and timely products including policy proposals, strategic advice and ministerial briefings
- Adapt to changing priorities, audiences and deadlines while maintaining focus on core outcomes.
- Confidence engaging with external stakeholders in a tactful and productive manner.
