Your new role As an APS5 Policy Officer, you will work collaboratively with the Assistant Secretary and departmental staff across the Branch to ensure work priorities are achieved in a timely manner. You will provide comprehensive administrative support, by undertaking a wide range of duties which may include:

- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinate external requests across the Department
- Analyse information and draft responses
- Conduct research and assist in the development of new policy proposals for review and submission
- Formulate, draft and review senior officer briefings
- Monitor the inbox and respond to all enquiries in an appropriate timeframe
- Act as secretariat for several cross agency and internal executive committee

What you’ll need to succeed To be successful in this role you will be interested in improving processes, identifying better ways of doing things and have the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with those internal and external to your team. You must be an Australian citizen and possess or be willing to go through the process to obtain and maintain a Baseline personnel security clearance. What you’ll get in return
