**The Role**
A Systems Program Office (SPO) Contract Management Officer will be exposed to a wide range of commercial activities relating to the engagement of capability acquisition, sustainment and other Defence Support Service (DSS) activities for the SPO. These commercial activities may include a wide range of Australian Standard Defence Contract (ASDEFCON) based contracts in support of procurements varying from contractor engagement through to major production activities with domestic and international suppliers.

SPO Contract Management Officer will be accountable to the SPO Business Manager for the delivery of SPO commercial and contract management outcomes.

A SPO Contract Management Officer will be required to work both independently and as part of a team, both within the SPO and as part of the larger Branch contracting cohort.
Additionally this role will include a considerable level of stakeholder management with internal CASG stakeholders, such as Materiel Procurement Branch, as well as external stakeholder including other groups and services and Industry Partners.

The Electromagnetic Warfare and Intelligence Systems Branch (EWIS) sits within the Department of Defence Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG). Charged with the responsibility of acquiring and sustaining a broad range of electronic warfare and signals intelligence systems in both tactical and strategic domains, EWIS provides its team with a wide range of exciting career opportunities.

Within the Branch, EWIS Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) SPO manages the introduction of innovative AESA technology and is the initial point of contact for engagements between the Department of Defence and CEA Technologies - a supplier of world-leading radar technologies that are designed, developed and manufactured in Australia.

The Contract Management Officer will possess sound commercial and business acumen and a demonstrated understanding of the Defence Industry sector in Australia.
