The Role
The Information and Records Management Officer is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex information and records management work within an integrated workforce. They are accountable to ensure they have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements.

An APS 6 Information and Records Management Officer will work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes of their work. They will exercise both initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures.

The Information and Records Management Officer will have considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex issues. They will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders' needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.

About our Team
The Integrated Warfighting Networks Systems Program Office (IWNSPO) is responsible for the acquisition, integration and sustainment of command, and control warfare systems for the Australian Defence Force across the country and in operational theatres overseas.

These capabilities include computer applications that support planning and conduct of operations, including IT infrastructure and command and control systems for deployed military forces across the five Domains. IWNSPO acquires and sustains joint-information warfare capabilities that are mission critical to all three services of the Australian Defence Force.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Understand the standards that guide information management and be able to interpret and comply with information governance requirements including relevant legislation, established principles, work practices and procedures.
  • The ability to communicate effectively its application.
  • A sound understanding of (or ability to gain) the Defence Records Management Policy, and its application across the enterprise.
  • Analyse information policy enquiries and procedures for continuous improvement opportunities, resolve problems and implement alternate courses of action.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to resolve issues.
  • Set priorities and manage workflows, in a team-based environment, actively supporting the SPO and team objectives to achieve strategic organisational objectives.
Eligibility

Security Clearance
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at "Negative Vetting Level 1".
