Plant Operator

Based in Pinkenba (a stone’s throw away from Brisbane Airport), we are seeking a **Plant Operator** to join the Packaged Products team at our Bulwer Island site. You will be part of a small team within our larger site operations. While previous experience is a plus, we are looking for you to bring a positive, can-do attitude and a commitment to safety onsite and contribute to the supply of Australian-manufactured building goods.

Reporting to the Production Manager, as our **Plant Operator** you will monitor, operate and control the Drymix bagging production plant. As a team you will safely operate fixed and mobile plant equipment which supports the site in meeting production requirements. Our equipment is specialised so we will train you in everything you need to know. You will also have the opportunity to put your mechanical skills to use as you identify issues and do basic troubleshooting as the need arises.

**This is a permanent full-time salaried position operating Monday to Friday (6am - 2pm).**

**About the role**:
As a Plant Operator at our Bulwer Island site you will:
Ensure Bulwer Island operations meet safety guidelinesOperate equipment to obtain maximum output and achieve targets, ensuring compliance with QA requirements (testing, quality etc)Contribute to the short and long term planning for preventative maintenanceUndertake preventive Maintenance Routines and minor maintenance activitiesReclaim raw material with the front-end loader to the dryerOperate the forklift in the Bagging ShedControl receivables and dispatch products and materials to meet leading deadlinesPerform basic root cause analysis of equipment failure

Are safety oriented, like to show initiative and enjoy troubleshootingIdeally have some experience in operating fixed and/or mobile plant equipmentHold a valid Forklift ticket and Drivers licenceAre mechanically minded, enjoy identifying problems and fixing thingsCommunicate well with others and are known for being a great team playerHave experience using small hand and power tools e.g. battery drillKnow computer basics and are willing to learnAre physically fit and able to lift 20kg, routinelyAdditional tickets e.g. Front End Loader and BobCat tickets are a plus
