**The opportunity**:
Under the general supervision of the Commercial Director, the Commercial Manager will be responsible for providing support to projects within Government Solutions - APAC and overseeing all commercial aspects of contracts and agreements. They will be required to participate in the fulfilment of all contract requirements, interface with internal business areas to ensure and assure contract compliance. Under general direction of the Commercial Director they will use their specialised knowledge and skills to solve complex and unique problems. The Commercial Manager will also be responsible for evaluating and managing project commercial risks, ensuring the project's finance, insurance, controls, estimating, compliance, and procurement activities are in line with KBR’s internal policy.

**This position is a Full Time, Permanent opportunity based in either Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.**

**In this position you will**:

- Contribute to and participate in all business development activities including pre-sales/capture, bid and proposal development, negotiation, contract management and project close out through the planning, organising, and developing all commercial documentation required for projects
- Coordinate and engage with internal stakeholders across other operations and functional areas including operations, legal, finance, export controls, insurance, treasury, tax, risk management and procurement/subcontracts
- coordinates, in consultation with required internal stakeholders review and approval of commercial or contractual documentation
- Contributes to adherence to corporate and regulatory compliance
- Leads subcontract engagement including negotiation, execution and ongoing subcontract performance evaluation and management
- Leads supply chain management including
- Contributes, in consultation with the EPMO, to project risk management. Supports the Commercial Director in managing GS-APAC enterprise risks activities.
- Acts as ‘first-port-of-call’ for advice on contracts, commercial risk, compliance and procurement matters.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Possess a relevant recognised tertiary qualification in Business, Law, Commerce or similar, or demonstrate relevant professional experience.
- Experience in Defence, Commonwealth Government and business-to-business contracting and commercial practices
- Experience in engagement and management of subcontractors
- Experience in commercial financial model planning, pricing and estimate build-up, invoicing and billing procedures and general contract administration.
- Experience with SAP is desirable
- Experience in management of export control compliance in particular experience with ITAR and the Australian DTC Act is highly-desirable
- Australian Citizen and holding a current AGSVA Baseline security clearance
