As a **Manager Commercial, **you will lead a team of contract administrators and senior contract administrators. The position provides leadership and expert advice to the project delivery team in order for them to deliver the best commercial and contractual outcomes for Powerlink. Here’s how:

- Plan, resource, and communicate effectively with your team and other stakeholders, ensuring that your team is prepared and aligned with the broader organisational objectives.
- Coach and mentor your team members, supporting them to solve problems, create readiness for change, build capability, and provide ongoing development and efficient utilisation of the commercial team.
- Lead the commercial team to implement consistent and compliant deployment of Powerlink’s infrastructure delivery commercial processes.
- Support the commercial advisors in the assessment and preparation of accurate and timely responses to contractors' contractual claims for variations, delays, extensions of time, etc.
- Provide commercial support to project managers, interpreting contract provisions to help resolve claims to ensure Powerlink is able to maximise financial and operational performance and minimise risk.

**The community you will join**:
Based in Virginia, you will report to the General Manager Major Customers & Energy Transformation Delivery and support our project delivery teams across our regulated and non-regulated projects. Our transmission network extends 1,700km from north of Cairns to the New South Wales border, and comprises 15,345 circuit kilometres of transmission lines and 147 substations, connecting Queenslanders to a world-class energy future.

**Your expertise**:

- Degree in project management, engineering or quantity surveying or similar discipline;
- Or lesser qualifications coupled with significant contract experience within a commercial, engineering or construction environment.
- Demonstrated experience in managing, leading coaching and mentoring large teams of personnel in the commercial environment.
- Proven track record in successfully overseeing the performance of contractors and related service providers to ensure delivery in accordance to commercial and contractual obligations.

**We’d also love you to have**:

- Demonstrated experience in leading the commercial aspects of multiple and complex engineering projects in the high voltage transmission industry
- Demonstrated ability to follow and role model key people management processes including recruitment, performance management and safety, etc.
- Proven effective negotiation skills and high-level commercial management expertise for delivering quality commercial outcomes on construction projects within high voltage transmission infrastructure.
