**About us**
The Department of Justice and Community Safety is responsible for the statutory supervision of young people in the criminal justice system.
Youth Justice is responsible for the statutory supervision of children and young people in contact with the justice system in Victoria. Children and young people who are involved in Youth Justice are either supervised in the community, or within Youth Justice custodial facilities. Youth Justice works with these children and young people to address the underlying causes of their offending behaviour and help them to achieve positive change in their lives. Youth Justice also funds community service organisations to deliver supports with a strong focus on diversion and the rehabilitation of young people to reduce further offending and enhance community safety.
**What does the Business Support Officer do?**
As the Business Support Officer, you will support the provision of confidential administrative services across two offices with Youth Justice, the Office of the Deputy Secretary and the Office of the Commissioner. Each office has a Strategic Adviser and is supported by a shared team consisting of the Senior Executive Assistant and the Business Support Officer.
Reporting to the Senior Executive Assistant, you will work collaboratively to ensure that each office is managed in an effective and efficient manner.
**What skills should a Business Support Officer have?**
- experience in general office management including the provision of confidential, personal and administrative support functions
- excellent time management and organisation skills
- the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
Understanding of DJCS policies, procedures and systems including TRIM, Oracle and EBC is desirable.
