**The Role**
The current and expected vacancies advertised include full time (37.5 hours per week) roles in Canberra and 24/7 shift work opportunities in Canberra and Bendigo.In these roles, you will be required to:
- Lead and conduct efforts to monitor and analyse global events;
- Help align tactical work with strategic objectives;
- Develop policy advice on operational and strategic matters;
- Generate advice and briefing material for key stakeholders;
- Develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships; and
- Manage a small team and be accountable for achieving outcomes within short timeframes.
These positions attract a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP) which enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the rate of salary otherwise payable under the Enterprise Agreement (EA) to some or all of the jobs within a critical occupation or discipline within a workplace. Applicants engaged into a BDCP position must consider the following:
- BDCPs provide remuneration in addition to the Defence Enterprise Agreement (EA).
- Should your performance fall beyond requirements or the eligibility criteria not be met, your eligibility for the BDCP may be reviewed and ceased.
- It may also be ceased should you change positions or the requirement for the BDCP is no longer necessary, as determined by Defence.
- Should the BDCP be ceased you will be advised and your BDCP additional payment will cease.
**About our Team**
We have current and expected vacancies in the Mission Governance and Integration (MGI) team and expected vacancies in AGO’s 24/7 operations centre. Both teams are in AGO’s GEOINT Mission Management (GMM) Directorate. We are a diverse team with a workforce dispersed across Australia and the world. The MGI team drives AGO’s delivery against whole-of-government intelligence priorities.
MGI manages incoming requirements, advises the executive on AGO’s strategic direction and drives improvements in AGO’s mission management capabilities.AGO’s 24/7 operations centre provides Defence and the Australian Government with round-the-clock situational awareness through timely GEOINT products, briefs and advice at all hours. AGO’s 24/7 operations centre collaborates with partners throughout government and with allied partners to achieve shared outcomes. Positions in the 24/7 operations centre are available in Canberra or Bendigo. MGI positions are based in Canberra.
You will need to:
- Understand the relationship between organisational goals and operational tasks;
- Exercise judgement and triage information to identify key factors that support decision making;
- Respond positively to tight deadlines and changing requirements in high-pressure situations;
- Build and leverage internal and external partnerships; and
- Communicate clearly, concisely and articulately with stakeholders and senior decision-makers.
