Job Title: Retail Team Leader

Job Description

As a retail team leader, you will be responsible for leading and guiding a small team to achieve sales growth, maintain store presentation and merchandising, and prioritize store safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Assist customers with product selection and technical advice
  • Build strong relationships with new and existing customers
  • Prepare paint products to customer requirements
  • Maintain stock control and manage inventory effectively
  • Process POS and end-of-day transactions efficiently
  • Make local deliveries to trade customers as needed using the company vehicle
  • Assist with in-store displays, store presentation, and merchandising
  • Support the sales team in growing trade, industrial, and retail business
  • Prioritize a safety-first approach in the store
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Leadership skills complemented by experience in coaching, developing, and mentoring teams
  • Previous experience working as a 2IC in a customer service role in retail/sales
  • Strong people and customer engagement skills
  • A genuine desire to deliver outstanding service
  • Point of Sale (POS) system knowledge or equivalent tech-savviness
  • Experience with stock handling and merchandising
  • Effective time management and planning capability
  • Resilience to handle work-related pressures
  • Autonomy to follow processes or make meaningful improvements
  • An unrestricted driver's license and capacity for manual tasks
