The Role
As an APS 6 Finance Officer within Australian Geospatial-Intelligence Organisation's (AGO) Business Enterprise Contracting & Procurement Directorate (BECP), you will be a significant team member enabling delivery of AGO’s mission.
**Your role will include**:
Delivering complex financial management support, including analysing and interrogation of AGO financial data and preparing financial reports to AGO senior management.
Managing AGO’s financial governance requirements in accordance with Defence’s financial policies and financial management framework.
Leading financial policy advice and guidance to AGO personnel and senior management.
Assist the Finance Manager in planning and establishing team priorities and managing workloads.
You will be well supported in the role by BECP’s highly experienced Finance Manager. You will be integral to driving efficiencies and innovation for delivering AGO’s financial management responsibilities.
This role provides an opportunity to work across varied financial aspects and offers a great opportunity for personal development and skills advancement. This role may also include supervisory responsibilities.
About our Team
The Business Enterprise Contracting & Procurement (BECP) Directorate is a critical enabler for delivering the AGO mission and is held in high regard by AGO leadership. It consists of three teams: Contracts & Procurement, Panel & Deeds, and Finance.
BECP is a busy directorate that works collaboratively across AGO to deliver priority outcomes for the organisation. We seek to continually build commercial and financial expertise in ourselves, and take pride in delivering quality solutions and advice to stakeholders. **BECP is responsible for delivering**:
Management of AGO’s fiscal responsibilities on behalf of Director AGO;
Compliant contracting and procurement activities; and
Management of the GeoPanel; a key strategic tool for sourcing geospatial data and imagery for delivering AGO’s core production and intelligence functions.

Demonstrated excellent communication and people management skills, strong planning and organisational skills, and the ability to build productive working relationships within an integrated workforce.
Demonstrated ability to analyse complex financial data; possessing good judgement, problem solving skills and attention to detail.
A high level of understanding and expertise with Commonwealth financial systems and tools; experience of Defence systems would be highly advantageous.
Demonstrates personal drive to deliver innovative solutions for achieving organisational goals.
