**The Role**

As a Technical Intelligence Analyst in the DIG you will work to understand foreign threats - including weapons systems and associated platforms - using highly technical, scientific and engineering analysis. You will communicate your findings to Australian Government decision makers via a broad range of written intelligence products, visualisation tools and verbal presentations. You will need to use your technical expertise, initiative, creativity, critical thinking, and strong communication and interpersonal skills on a daily basis to solve complex intelligence problems.

You will receive extensive training, including access to a range of fully-funded professional development activities. You will have the opportunity to engage with colleagues and customers across all levels of Government, and to undertake domestic and international travel to discuss your analysis.

Our technical analysts join us with a diversity of experience - whether straight from an undergraduate degree in STEM, while finishing up their PhD or Honours, from the ADF, Industry, elsewhere in the National Intelligence Community or the broader public sector. What is common across our people is their motivation, passion, creativity, good judgment and adaptability to achieve our mission.

The APS recruitment process within DIG can be a prolonged process due to security checks and clearances required for the nature of the Group’s work. DIG have implemented a ‘pipeline’ recruitment process to be proactive in recruiting talent. The ‘pipeline’ is to create a strong merit pool to fill a variety of technical intelligence analyst positions as they become available across the Group, at APS4-6 levels over an 18 month period.
