Eightcap is an Australian online financial trading Company that specialises in foreign exchange (Forex) and contract for difference (CFD) trading, offering over 250 tradable instruments to retail clients. The Company is headquartered in Melbourne, Australia and has offices in the UK Cyprus, Guatemala, Bahamas, Philippines and Bulgaria.

Quickly becoming a leader in its field, Eightcap has gone from strength to strength and experiencing rapid growth. Because of this, we are looking for a Head of Finance to join the team.

The Finance team is responsible for overseeing the planning, organisation, accounting, and controlling of the Group's finances and production of group financial reports and regulatory reporting.

Purpose of this position

The Head of Finance plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the financial control, FP&A, and financial operations within Eightcap and its related entities. This role is responsible for providing strategic financial leadership, managing financial risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, enhancing commercial capabilities, and driving operational efficiency.

This role involves a high level of responsibility, with important decision making that affects the future of a company and its employees. This is wide ranging role to support the CEO and Group CFO, with cross-functional exposure.

The role is responsible for ensuring that the Group maintains an appropriate financial control and reporting framework, partnering with key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities set out below are not exhaustive:

- Team Leadership: Effective management of a global finance team, providing leadership and guidance, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Strategic financial planning: Develop and execute financial strategies to support the company's growth objectives including revenue growth and profitability, while effectively managing risks.
- Assist with conducting financial analysis, performance evaluation and scenario modelling to support business decision-making and strategic planning initiatives.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and provide regular forecasting to support business decision-making and resource allocation.
- Financial reporting: Maintain and develop financial and non-financial management information for the Board and Executive.
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial reports, business insights and presentation materials for regular financial and business updates to the Board and leadership team.
- Financial controls: Implement and maintain robust financial management and control across the group financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Financial operations: Oversight of finance operation function responsible for the day-to-day management of all client money related activities, ensuring smooth, accurate and timely processing of client money and reconciliation process.
- Risk management: Establish robust internal controls to ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations. Identify, assess, and mitigate risks, through effective risk management practices.
- Regulatory compliance: Maintain oversight of financial regulatory reporting requirements of all regulated entities within the Group (ASIC, FCA, CYSEC, SCB etc).
- Treasury management: Manage cash flow, liquidity, and foreign exchange exposure to optimise financial performance and minimise risks.
- Stakeholder management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management, operations, and compliance teams, to drive alignment and achieve strategic objectives.
- Culture & Compliance: Role modelling the values of the Company, and obliging by the work, health, safety and wellbeing policies and practices in the execution of this role

Selection criteria
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. MBA or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in senior finance functions, preferably with experience in financial services environment.
- Sound understanding of financial markets, excellent analytical skills, and experience managing both financial control and FP&A functions
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and proficiency in financial modelling and analysis.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to lead and develop a high-performing finance team
- Prior experience in online trading environment will be viewed favourably.
- Proficiency in financial software and systems, including trading platforms, ERP systems, SQL and Business Intelligence tools is desired.
