Origin are currently looking for an experienced Energy Lead who will lead renewable energy sourcing activities across the Future Fuels development portfolio.

Working closely with Origin’s Energy Supply & Operations and Future Energy teams, the position will be pivotal for securing access to the low-cost renewable energy solutions required for the success of future fuels and carbon projects.

Experience in energy markets, power purchase agreements and financial modelling will be critical for the role.

The role is based in the Future Fuels Development team, reporting to the Senior Development Manager, and will be supporting a pipeline of development opportunities across Australia.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and design optimised energy solutions that enable commercially competitive hydrogen/renewable fuels projects
- Develop and manage a comprehensive energy price model for each opportunity that reflects the various power procurement options available to each opportunity
- Undertake energy supply scenario analysis to ensure energy supply models capture a range of alternative market outcomes
- Leading interactions, negotiations and agreement drafting with renewable energy developers on PPA terms, in collaboration with the Wholesale energy (ESO) team
- Secure renewable energy supply, electrical infrastructure and connection for hydrogen/ renewable fuels project through execution of required agreements
- Manage internal and external stakeholders to deliver project requirements
- Deliver long term value through renewable energy projects, inclusive of balancing CAPEX/OPEX/Risk/Opportunity
- Understand the impact (including price, carbon, temporal correlation etc.) for renewable hydrogen certification outcomes
- Collaborate across Origin business units to ensure renewable generation development opportunities are aligned and integrated to extract the highest value for Origin

Skills/Experience/Qualifications

Essential requirements:

- Minimum 3 yrs. experience in a similar role assessing wholesale electricity and/or gas markets
- Experience with wholesale electricity or gas market price modelling
- Proven experience and highly capable of creating and modifying financial and economic models
- Thorough understanding and extensive experience of power purchase agreements (PPAs), including the interaction between PPA terms, pricing and risk
- Experience in structuring energy (electricity and/or gas) transactions
- Experience with market instruments and contracts, such as caps, swaps and other hedges
- Knowledge of the National Electricity Market

Desirable requirements:

- Renewable energy development experience
- Commerce or Business qualifications
