**The Division**

The Greater Sydney Division integrates transport modes including trains, metro, and buses; critical infrastructure and services to support Sydney’s growing metropolitan population, projected to swell to over 12 million within the next 40 years.

**The Opportunity**

The role sits within the Greater Sydney Investment and Portfolio team who is responsible for developing the Greater Sydney planning and delivery pipeline through provision of an efficient and effective interface between asset strategy, planning, development and delivery functions.

The role must successfully collaborate with a number of other internal and external stakeholders to understand the strategic landscape of the organisation, identified community needs, asset and growth requirements along with the internal resource constraints for investment. An understanding of the transport industry and project and portfolio management principles is required.

Portfolio management is a relatively new function for Greater Sydney. As such, this role is responsible for not only leading business-as-usual portfolio management functions but identifying areas of improvement and developing new processes and methodologies. There is an expectation that this role will work with Greater Sydney stakeholders to facilitate workshops and lessons learnt discussions to drive portfolio management maturity across the division.

The role may also be required to support other functions within Investment and Portfolio team such as asset management, benefits realisation, funding submissions and program management.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Support the establishment and maintenance of an effective and collaborative interface across asset strategy, planning, development, and delivery for the Sydney portfolio.
- Lead the portfolio management function within Greater Sydney by continuing business as-usual activities and driving new initiatives for improvement.
- Lead the prioritisation process to develop Greater Sydney’s investment pipeline. This process should be re-evaluated at frequent intervals to allow for newly identified priority projects and programs.
- Understand the strategic vision and objectives of the Transport Cluster and Greater Sydney division and consider this within the prioritisation process.
- Oversee and report on Greater Sydney’s portfolio performance to identify any systemic issues and to generate insights on trends, risks and opportunities common amongst projects, programs or delivery partners
- Use the Investment Pipeline with Greater Sydney stakeholders to guide decision-making around investment spend for projects and programs.
- Prepare and present presentations to Greater Sydney stakeholders on the investment pipeline, seeking feedback on the process and agreement on future priorities.
- Establish strong working relationships with all stakeholders to ensure that outcomes are articulated, understood and achieved and make a substantial contribution to the wider business.
- Coordinate technical, financial and strategic information from stakeholders and translate into a meaningful portfolio narrative for Greater Sydney
