**About the role**:
Reporting to the Manager - Supply Chain, the Procurement Specialist is responsible for controlling, monitoring and managing inventory levels to optimise service levels and minimise working capital. You will also be responsible for planning timely purchasing of inventory.

In addition, you will be responsible for the following day-to-day activities:

- Placement of purchase orders through MRP system in area of responsibility.
- Managing and updating information on Order Acknowledgements
- Managing outstanding P/O reports and communicating with suppliers to improve delivery dates.
- Ensure Non-MRP purchasing is executed (Emergency and Non-planned) for whole goods and spare parts.
- Create Inbound deliveries
- Receipt Shipments/PO’s into stock
- All purchasing duties to be carried out in a timely manner and to agreed KPI’s.
- Monitoring performance of freight forwarders and courier companies.
- Maintaining Master data in SAP MM, Info records, source lists etc.
- Ensure parts are purchased from correct vendor with best price and lead time
- Assist other customer service team members with overflow where required
- Other responsibilities as assigned or required

**Applicants will need**:

- A sound working knowledge of SAP
- To have outstanding communication skills and the ability to create a strong rapport with team members.
- Ability to meet deadlines and organise work priorities
- To be self-motivated and show initiative
- Demonstrate a flexible and “can do” attitude.
- Willingness to travel as required
- To demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills
- Focus on achieving agreed targets
- Self-starter, able to work under time constraints, detail-oriented.
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
