Are you highly organised, detail-focused and ready to step into a role that keeps government communication flowing? Join the Executive Correspondence Team at the Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development as an AO4 Correspondence Officer.
Based at 1 William Street in Brisbane, this temporary full-time role (to 31 October 2025, with potential for extension) places you at the centre of high-level ministerial and executive communications. You'll work in a high-performing team delivering reliable and timely support to offices of the Minister for Resources and Director
- General.
**Key duties in this role include**:
Monitoring shared inboxes, prioritising requests, and tracking ministerial correspondence to ensure deadlines are met. You'll contribute to daily status reporting, provide advice on correspondence processes, maintain accurate records in MECS and eDOCS, and ensure document quality through the department's style guide and templates. You'll also liaise across business groups and play a key role in coordinating responses, resolving issues, and upholding communication standards. This role offers exposure to government priorities, the opportunity to build relationships across the department, and an environment where attention to detail and communication excellence are valued.
**We're looking for someone who**:
Brings excellent written communication and editing skills, along with strong stakeholder engagement experience. You'll be confident managing competing deadlines, thrive in a team environment, and enjoy bringing order and clarity to fastmoving workloads. You'll ideally have familiarity with information systems like MECS and eDOCS, or the ability to learn quickly. Analytical thinking, initiative, and commitment to best practice will help you succeed. You'll be joining a collaborative team committed to customer service, continuous improvement, and helping you develop your skills in public sector communications and executive support.
