The role
You will play a critical role in ensuring laboratory compliance with regulatory and quality standards, including NATA accreditation and ISO 17025 requirements. This position focuses on developing and managing quality improvement activities, method validation, and continual enhancement of laboratory practices. Collaborating with leadership and quality management teams, you will oversee document control, audits, equipment calibration, and quality control monitoring while supporting staff to address accreditation requirements and implement best practices. Your responsibilities include internal audits, root cause investigations, risk assessments, and proficiency trials to maintain operational excellence.
With technical expertise and strong communication skills, you will provide advice to colleagues and management, prepare documentation for external audits, and contribute to staff training. The role requires a tertiary qualification in science with a chemistry major, with additional knowledge of validation processes, statistics, and compliance frameworks. Your ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines will be key in ensuring the laboratory's adherence to legislative and regulatory standards.
