**The opportunity**
- Develop and manage external programs tailored for children and young people accommodated in youth justice custody including sourcing, contracting, management of budget and expenditure and forward forecasting
- Contribute to the improvement of program outcomes through your understanding of issues impacting justice-involved young people
- Work in partnership with stakeholders to monitor and evaluate programs and outcomes for young people to generate evidence-based insights
Part of the Department of Justice and Community Safety, Youth Justice Custodial Services aim to engage young people in change by addressing their offending behaviour and equipping them with the skills required for positive community participation, within a safe and secure environment.
Reporting to Senior Operations Manager - Dual Track, the Contract Manager and Evaluation Lead is responsible for the management, successful delivery of, and coordinating evaluations of programs supporting rehabilitation and positive outcomes for young people.
The role will be responsible for the engagement and implementation of externally delivered structured programs for young people, including program evaluation and outcome monitoring. The role will be responsible for ensuring a cohesion of programmatic delivery between internal and external stakeholders and service providers to deliver high quality, evidence-based and cost-effective programs and services that drive rehabilitative outcomes in young people.
A full driver's licence is required due to the need to be able to work flexibly across both custodial precincts and community offices, based on operational requirements.
A current employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) card is required and will need to be provided prior to commencement of employment by the applicant. Currency will need to be maintained by the employee for the period of employment.
