**About the role**
The purpose of this position is to collaborate with the Cultural Collection Enhancement Manager to coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Cultural Collections Enhancement Project (CCEP) digitisation teams to create high quality records of the Museums’ Cultural Collections. This covers a gamut of activities, from preparation of cultural collection objects for documentation enhancement, community consultation, and digitisation including object handling, registration of collection objects, barcoding, data entry and clean up as objects are selected and relocated for digitisation, during photography or consultation, returned to storage and on occasion assisting with quality checking digital image files and metadata.
**About you**
We are seeking a Project Coordinator, ideally a Museum professional to make decisions about the day-to-day operations of the Cultural Collections Enhancement Project. This includes staff supervision, liaising and with consultation officers, and prioritisation activities for the First Nations Cultural Collections project team.
You will have:
- Experience in team leadership
- Experience in museum collections registration
- Experience in mass digitisation projects
- Experience in project management and reporting
**Essential Requirements**:
- The role holder must be prepared to travel between the various sites which holds the AM collections, and to external stakeholders as needed to support the work of the digitisation project and the First Nations Collections teams.
**Knowledge & Experience**
- Demonstrated understanding and experience in collection information management and contemporary digital collection management practices including the use of databases such as EMu, Fotoware or similar.?
- Knowledge of Copyright and / or ICIP and cultural protocols.
- Data manipulation and database skills, including data migration and data import/export experience and the use of CSV files; Excel proficiency; file management proficiency.?
- Current knowledge and working experience to deliver the Key Accountabilities and perform to the Focus Capabilities outlined in this Role Description.
