**About - Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning**
The Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning is the leading educational and research institution in the Asia-Pacific region addressing the design and realisation of environments. It actively seeks to extend the linkages between education, research and practice in the built environment, and maintains excellent and extensive relationships with members of the built environment professions, government, professional associations and the wider community.
The Faculty has over 200 staff and 3000 students, one third of whom are international. It is responsible for the undergraduate Bachelor of Design degree, and offers majors in architecture, landscape architecture, property, construction, and urban planning.
The Faculty’s graduate school, the Melbourne School of Design (MSD), teaches accredited masters courses across the professional disciplines of Architecture, Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, Property, Urban Design and Urban Planning.
**About the Role**
Reporting to the Manager Strategy Planning and Resources, the Strategic Initiative CoOrdinator role provides support, tailored trusted advice across the breadth of the Faculty’s strategy and planning projects and activities. The role will be responsible for preparing papers, analyses and briefings on a broad range of topics and in response to emerging issues covering the Faculty’s operations and strategic objectives in consultation with the Manager Strategy, Planning and Resources. The position will work with senior colleagues in the Faculty to deliver on the Faculty’s Strategy and Business Plan initiatives and other operational and tactical projects.
The position supports the leadership of the SPR team and works closely with Senior Managers, Business Partners and Faculty Executive team to ensure an aligned and informed approach to the delivery of the Faculty’s strategic goals.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide assistance in the development, implementation, delivery and monitoring of the Faculty’s Strategy and Business Planning initiatives
- Provide tailored and trusted advice of a strategic, tactical or operational nature to the Faculty Executive and senior managers, including undertaking complex analysis, writing papers and presentations that are clear, concise and compelling
- Support the Faculty’s strategic projects of all scales, including Fisherman’s Bend planning and implementation
- Provide support to the local implementation of broader University initiatives and policies
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization, driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Provide tailored support to the Faculty in strategic, tactical or operational contexts, including but not limited to support to the Office of the Dean, Strategy, Planning and Resources, Academic Support Office, Engagement and partnership and Research and Industry
- Provide implementation and ongoing administration support of the Faculty’s Academic Workload Allocation Model in partnership with Associate Dean, Resources
- Provide support in the successful provision of the Faculty’s strategic planning, business planning, workforce planning and risk management deliverables
**About You**
To be successful in this role, you will have extensive experience in contributing significantly to strategic and business planning with a complex environment.
You will also have:
- Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent mix of education and significant relevant experience
- Demonstrated skills and experience in qualitative and quantitative analysis including modelling, scenario and sensitivity analysis, performance measurement, institutional analysis and benchmarking
- High-level written, analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills with the capacity to interpret data, undertake analysis, synthesise complex information and provide creative and effective solutions to complex, multi-disciplinary problems
- Strong organisational and planning skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise competing demands and meet tight deadlines with minimum direction and oversight
