**The Opportunity**

The Neuromedicines Discovery Centre (NDC) is seeking to appoint a highly motivated General Manager, Strategic Partnerships and Operations who will drive the operational business strategy of NDC through their industry knowledge and proven collaborative networks internationally. The General Manager will play a central leadership role in positioning Monash University as a recognised national and international leader in mental health drug discovery and development.

The General Manager, Strategic Partnerships and Operations will actively contribute to the development of the NDC’s vision and direction and ensure effective implementation of strategic plans to deliver the highest quality publications, partnerships, clinical trials and policy development. The position will take charge of a range of activities including the planning of service delivery, oversight of projects, reporting, business improvement and provide leadership to professional services.

The role is based at the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MIPS) on the Parkville campus, with time required at the Clayton campus.

Working with a considerable degree of autonomy and working closely with the NDC Leadership Team, the role of General Manager will provide strategic leadership across administrative, financial, resource and business planning activities by establishing, executing and maintaining the overall governance and administrative operations of the NDC Partnership development (including with governments), marketing, and event management are also critical aspects of the role.

**About you**

Suited to an experienced senior manager, preferably with exposure to highly complex environments, the successful applicant will hold extensive operational management experience and leadership skills with a proven ability to develop and implement strategic planning.

Working closely with Directors of a number of other research facilities, this role requires a demonstrated ability to initiate and develop a range of high-level relationships, collaborations and networks as well as demonstrate exceptional consulting, influence and engagement across all levels.

Knowledge and appreciation of the academic research environment within higher education and strong financial management is essential to the success of this role.
