**About the Role**

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and dynamic educator to join the leadership team at Canberra Grammar School. As the Head of Religion and Values Education (RaVE), you will lead curriculum in line with school initiatives, develop the quality of teaching and learning, and nurture positive relationships between students, teachers, and stakeholders. In this role, you will use your knowledge and experience to create a positive learning environment that values and engages students; empowering them to attain elevated levels of achievement, continually improving their learning, and being ready for the world. The position of Head of Department is a three-year appointment.

The Religion and Values Education (RaVE) Department at Canberra Grammar School is a warm and collegial team of highly qualified and experienced teachers. Most are full-time, while some work across other Departments. All are dedicated professional educators committed to the intellectual and personal growth of over 1200 students taking Religion and Values Education (RaVE) in the Senior School from Year 7 to Year 12.

**About You**

You are dedicated, passionate and possess the following:

- The ability to design, develop and maintain a RaVE curriculum programme that meets the needs of all students in the School from Year 7 to Year 12
- The ability to implement initiatives, project delivery and change management
- A high degree of technical knowledge and a commitment to ongoing professional learning
- Ability to perform successfully with responsibility for the management and development of other staff
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to advise and liaise across all levels of an organisation and with parents and guardians
- The ability to work collaboratively with other members of staff and lead others.
- Administrative and organisational skills.
- Communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to the full life of an Independent school and a willingness to engage in School activities outside of regular hours.

All team members at CGS are required to have:

- Appropriate qualifications
- A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card
- A current National Police Check; and
- Full working rights within Australia.
