**About the agency**:
The purpose of the Australian Space Agency is to transform and grow a globally respected Australian space industry that lifts the broader economy, inspires and improves the lives of Australians, underpinned by strong international and national engagement.
The 10 year plan for the Australian space industry is outlined in _Advancing Space: Australian Civil Space Strategy 2019 - 2028_ which outlines four pillars and seven key priority areas which sets a path to triple the size of space economy and create 20,000 jobs in Australia by 2030.
Responsibilities of the Agency include:
- providing national policy and strategic advice on the civil space sector
- coordinating Australia’s domestic space sector activities
- supporting the growth of Australia’s space industry and the use of space across the broader economy
- leading international space engagement
- administering space activities legislation and delivering on our international obligations
- inspiring the Australian community and the next generation of space entrepreneurs.

The Australian Space Agency is looking to fill two roles critical to its functions:
- Executive Level 2 Executive Offer to the Agency Head, based in Adelaide
- Executive Level 1 Executive Officer to the Agency Deputy Head, based in Canberra
Successful applicants will have strong demonstrated skills and experience in:
- being a highly resilient leader with the ability to manage multiple priorities and harness information from a variety of sources to provide sound advice to senior executives
- using critical thinking to proactively identify risks, issues, efficiencies and opportunities and translating this to achieve business outcomes
- managing business processes to ensure workflow runs smoothly, effectively prioritising the work and time of their senior executive, managing deadlines and supporting other Agency staff to adhere to efficient processes
- excellent interpersonal relationships, collaboration and negotiation, which extend to liaising with and developing strong working relationships across the APS, ministerial offices and industry stakeholders
- excellent written and verbal communication with a proven ability to generate high quality products with close attention to detail
- working to a very high professional standard in a high pressure, complex environment
- being flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and circumstances

- understanding Australian Government processes, including parliamentary, procurement and HR activities.
**What you will do**:
The Executive Officer to the Agency Head/Deputy Head provide leadership in co-ordinating activities for the Agency including approvals. You will:
- manage the relevant office and provide high level strategic and administrative support and advice
- manage workflow in and out of the Agency, supporting completion of tasks critical to the Agency
- ensure the Head/Deputy Head of the Agency are appropriately briefed for meetings including coordination and/or preparation of briefs
- produce high quality written products for the Head and Deputy Head of Agency including, but not limited to, talking points, speeches, briefs, presentations and forewords
- oversee all executive coordination activities, including ministerial and parliamentary, whole of government matters, executive meetings and briefings for the Head, Deputy and General Managers
- work across teams to achieve strategic outcomes for the Agency
- build and maintain strong working relationships with the offices of federal and state Ministers, senior departmental executive, state and territory representatives, and senior industry leaders nationally and internationally
- as part of the Agency’s leadership team, provide strategic direction, engage with risk and support the implementation of the Agency’s Charter, values and Australian Civil Space Strategy
- embrace and work by the Australian Space Agency values.
