An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Business Partner to join Service Stream in our Utilities and Infrastructure Sector based in Clayton, VIC
About the Role
Service Stream’s Utilities and Infrastructure on are currently seeking a Finance Business Partner to join our growing team. This position is responsible for providing a comprehensive accounting and business partnering service across the Multinet OMSA Contract. The Finance Business Partner will provide leadership in the areas of financial and non-financial process and administration, reporting, forecasting, financial & operational analysis and governance, in addition to leading specific project improvement initiatives. Working closely with the Finance Manager, this position will be required to complete all the necessary finance related tasks related to the O&M contracts as well as driving key process improvements

Key Responsibilities
Provide a comprehensive accounting and business partnering service to the Multinet OMSA contract including:
Financial Control
- Assist the Finance Manager in overseeing the overall financial performance
- Assist in the Annual Budget, including development of revised budget templates, and where applicable, developing a Capex Budget for their area of responsibility
- Assist the Business Unit Managers and Operations Managers in monitoring their respective budgets, monthly forecasts and assisting with strategies where appropriate to deliver targeted results;
- Involvement in the half-year and year-end financial audit
- Review capex documents, including business cases, to support the Finance Manager
Accounting & Reporting
- Oversee the Month end process and assist the Finance Accountant and the Accounts Payable Teams to deliver the month end result
- Own and run the Projects accounting and reporting process and partner with the relevant stakeholders to achieve project budgets
- Prepare and deliver monthly operational / management reports ensuring the reports accurately depict the trading result for the Contract
- Regularly meet with the Operations Managers to discuss trading performance and to provide detailed insight into the monthly results;
- Review and where necessary implement revised accounting procedures, processes and internal control systems to ensure the integrity and reliability of data utilised to prepare financial and management reporting;
- Analysing and monitoring program & site overhead financial results and variances;
- Review and where necessary preparing contract level forecasts, financial budgets and rolling 12-month forecasts;
- Reporting the status of initiatives in particular time, cost, revenue, risk, performance and progress to the relevant Operations Managers;
- Preparation of ad-hoc analysis on business issues impacting the provision of services across a contract / business unit; and
- Review and where necessary implement revised compliance policies within scope of responsibility
Commercial / Project Specific
- Assist with pricing build ups and other estimates & tasks related to contract negotiations, contract variations and / or new business opportunities;
- Provide insight and advice to management on opportunities for improved staff utilisation, cost optimisation and the streamlining of processes to ensure the business operates a cost efficient service delivery;
- Review contractual terms and operational delivery model, with a view of maximising financial returns;
- Assist with project specific tasks, such as system / software implementation initiatives and general process improvements;
- Proactively respond to issues that impact on financial performance and facilitate solutions in a timely manner. Share methodologies that will bring about improvements systematically; and
- Developing and continuously improving standard procedures for financial management of service lines (program of works).
- Understand the complex drivers behind the OMSA contract and work with the Finance Manager on reporting improvement and savings initiatives

About You
- Minimum 5 years’ work experience in a medium to large company, preferably from a high volume utility, asset maintenance, construction, manufacturing or similar industry
- Completed a Business Degree in Accounting
- CPA / CA qualified
