At Very Special Kids, we believe that all children and young people have the right to quality of life, no matter how long or short their life may be. We provide holistic palliative care for children with a life-limiting condition and their families. Our multidisciplinary approach includes counselling, sibling support, bereavement support and community activities, as well as respite and end of life care at Victoria’s only children’s hospice.

Every member of our team plays a vital role in the delivery of essential services to support the physical, mental and emotional needs of the children and families in our care, so they are always supported in the way they need it most - through life, death and bereavement.

Reporting to the Volunteer Manager, we have a rewarding opportunity for a Volunteer Coordinator to join us in a pivotal year of change. You will be responsible for the orientation, placement, rostering and supervision of our motivated and highly skilled volunteers in a not for profit organisation. You will bring with you experience in developing dynamic and impactful volunteer programs where you have supported and provided supervision to volunteers.

Very Special Kids nurtures and fosters a culture of care internally as well as for our families, so that our team of circa 100 staff and over 900 volunteers are empowered, supported and safe through the process of helping and caring for families.
