Job Purpose: The Individual Giving Coordinator is responsible for delivering effective

fundraising campaigns that grow income, deepen supporter engagement,

and increase the number of active donors. This role coordinates multi-

channel appeals and the regular giving program, with a strong focus on

donor acquisition, retention, and stewardship. Using data-driven insights

and compelling storytelling, the Individual Giving Coordinator ensures

campaigns are impactful, donor-centred, and aligned with the broader

fundraising strategy of Very Special Kids.

Experience:

Qualifications & experience

• Diploma or tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, or a

related field (desirable).

  • Demonstrated experience in a fundraising role, ideally within

individual giving or a direct marketing environment.

  • Proven track record in delivering successful multi-channel campaigns

across direct mail, telemarketing, and digital platforms.

  • Experience managing relationships with key internal and external

stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of best-practice fundraising and donor stewardship

principles (desirable).

Skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Confident storyteller with the ability to translate complex or sensitive

topics into impactful narratives that inspire action.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make

informed, evidence-based decisions.

  • Proficiency using CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) and campaign

reporting tools.

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills, and the ability to

prioritise and manage multiple projects and campaigns to deadline.

  • Passion for the mission and values of Very Special Kids, with a

commitment to ethical and donor-centred fundraising.

Responsibilities:

Donor Acquisition and Campaign Delivery

• Manage multiple appeals and campaigns to deadlines, and agreed

income targets.

  • Coordinate the end-to-end delivery of multi-channel fundraising

appeals and annual giving campaigns, including direct mail,

telemarketing, email, and digital.

  • Plan and execute donor acquisition campaigns across digital, direct

mail, and other channels to grow the active supporter base.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure

messaging is on-brand, timely, and aligned with fundraising

objectives, including fundraising agencies, designers, copywriters,

print and mail houses.

  • Lead the development of case studies and supporter stories, including

conducting interviews and crafting content for use across appeals,

digital platforms, and social media.

  • Ensure all campaign content is clear, compelling, and emotionally

resonant, using strong storytelling to translate complex or sensitive

topics into impactful narratives that inspire action.

  • Work closely with the Fundraising Manager and broader team to align

individual giving strategies with organizational goals.

Regular Giving Program

• Coordinate the delivery and growth of the regular giving program,

including acquisition, retention, and upgrade strategies.

  • Monitor donor retention and churn rates and implement initiatives to

improve donor loyalty and lifetime value.

  • Develop and manage donor journeys for regular givers, ensuring

timely and relevant communications.

Donor Stewardship & Engagement

  • Work closely with the Finance and Administration team to coordinate

best practise supporter care & donation processing, ensuring timely

receipting and acknowledgement.

  • Coordinate and implement donor stewardship activities, including

execution of the regular donor care eDM.

  • Create donor journeys that build trust and inspire long-term giving.

  • Partner with the volunteer services team to source volunteers to

provide donor stewardship and engagement activities.

Data, Reporting & Finance

  • Use data and analytics to inform campaign strategy, audience

segmentation, and message targeting.

  • Collaborate with the Salesforce Administrator and IT team to ensure

donor records are accurate, up-to-date, and maintained in the CRM

(e.g., Salesforce), supporting data integrity across all individual giving

activities.

  • Partner with the Salesforce Administrator to generate reports and

dashboards that provide insights into donor giving trends and

campaign performance.

  • Use data insights to identify opportunities for improvement in donor

acquisition, retention, and campaign effectiveness.

  • Monitor and report on financial performance of individual giving

campaigns against agreed income targets.

  • Work with the Finance team to ensure monthly reconciliation of

fundraising income and accurate financial tracking across all individual

giving activities.
