**The Role**
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Australian Geospatial-Intelligence (GEOINT) Organisation (AGO) and contribute to achieving Defence’s goals through AGO’s GEOINT Data Office (GDO). We seek a motivated person with good judgment, and adaptability to achieve our mission and ambitious data objectives.

We are looking to fill an APS6 position within the Data Acquisition team of the GDO.

As an APS 6 GEOINT data officer you will:

- Shape AGO’s data culture by engaging across all branches of AGO to help manage and deliver AGO’s data acquisition plan.
- Manage and prioritise a high workload, with mínimal supervision.
- Use strong interpersonal skills to build, sustain, and grow engagement with stakeholders to champion AGO data and services.
- Support decision making, help shape mission and organisational requirements, and drive data acquisition and sustainment requirements.
- Lead, mentor and train team members and delegate tasks appropriately.

AGO's GEOINT Data Office is responsible for the enterprise data holdings of AGO and Defence GEOINT partners. The GEOINT Data Office supports a wide array of functions from highly technical functions to strategic governance and policy guidance for the Department and intelligence community.

The modernisation of the GEOINT Data Office presents staff in the directorate significant opportunity to contribute to the support of critical Defence operations through provision of timely, accurate and fit-for-purpose GEOINT data.

The Data Acquisition team is responsible for acquiring a range of commercial geospatial datasets in support of AGO’s Foundation and Intelligence production functions. The role requires high levels of stakeholder engagement across AGO and externally with AGO’s customers and industry partners. Data Acquisition works closely with production areas, project teams and other areas of the GDO to ensure that commercial data is fit-for-purpose and readily available for Defence and National Intelligence communities.

They are able to meet high levels of customer service, maintain productive relationships with internal and external customers, and build strong working relationships with international and industry partners.
