Safety and Health Advisor

As Safety and Health Advisor you will be the first point of contact for managers and other organisation employees providing advice and hands-on support regarding optimum workplace safety and health (S&H) practices.

**The Role / Duties**
As Safety and Health Advisor you will be the first point of contact for managers and other organisation employees providing advice and hands-on support regarding optimum workplace safety and health (S&H) practices. This is a permanent full-time role based in Osbourne Park.
- Actively partner with service managers to drive safety performance across the organisation
- Contribute to the development, review and effective implementation of S&H policies, procedures and practices.
- Conduct risk assessments, hazard reviews, safety audits and data analysis, and identify opportunities for education and process improvement
- Assisting in the training and guidance of staff and managers in risk minimisation and incident prevention techniques.
- Conduct and participate in the investigation of incidents and hazards as required.
- Be proactive in the development and implementation of effective communication strategies, campaigns and programs that promote a safety culture and the importance of workplace S&H.
- Facilitate education opportunities and training for staff and managers relating to S&H and emergency response.
- Partner with injury management consultants to provide effective incident investigation information and assist in the development of return to work programs.

**Required skills and experience**
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Safety & Health (minimum Certificate IV).
- Demonstrated proactive and innovative approach to the delivery of S&H in a diverse organisation.
- Strong understanding of contemporary S&H issues, models and best practice, with sound knowledge of S&H legislation, relevant Codes of Practice and guidance notes.
- Experience conducting effective S&H audits and investigations.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and experience in safety management software.
- Ability to prioritise workload, work effectively under pressure and, problem solve.
- Current Western Australian 'C' Class Driver's License.
- Current National Police Certificate.
