We are currently looking for a Team Lead to join QinetiQ’s leading Structural Integrity business based in South Melbourne Victoria.
The Team Lead - Structural Integrity will provide leadership to a team of engineers completing complex engineering tasks for numerous stakeholders. The Team Lead will be responsible for the performance management and personnel requirements as well as the successful running of the business unit, whilst generating and maintaining a safe work environment with high employee engagement.
As Team Lead - Structural Integrity your responsibilities will include:
Managing of a team of engineers within a Program area of the business.
Scoping and managing the execution and delivery of complex engineering services to varying customers, enhancing QinetiQ’s reputation as a trusted provider and partner, and which deliver to QinetiQ the agreed/anticipated returns.
Serves as a primary point of contact and client interface for the assigned tasks for their team, developing strong customer relationships and managing client expectations.
Ensures administrative management deliverables are met, including: invoice requests, data reporting, financial and resource projections.
Ensures optimal utilisation of human, physical and financial resources allocated to assigned tasks; decisions are guided by resource availability and/or functional objectives.
Ensures standardisation and continuous improvement of relevant processes.
Compliance with legislative, regulatory, QinetiQ Quality Management Systems, Employee Safety requirements.
Ensures management, communication and leadership practices in the team generates a high level of employee engagement, a high performance culture and aligns with QinetiQ staff competency requirements.
To be successful in the role of Team Lead - Structural Integrity, you will need to bring with you:
First degree or an equivalent, nationally recognised professional qualification in a relevant discipline to the program area with further substantial on the job experience and backed up with a tangible track record of achievement.
Under certain circumstances, another appropriate qualification with a significant depth of experience may be acceptable in lieu of a degree.
Excellent PM and organisational skills in planning, managing and coordinating.
Experience working within an engineering management system.
A highly analytical and solution focused approach with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to solicit, support and coordinate efforts of a diverse team of professional experts.
Advanced professional writing capabilities to develop or improve documents and ensure understandable and useful information.

QinetiQ’s Structural Integrity group provides trusted, independent airworthiness advice and specialist structural integrity engineering services to Military customers, with a strong focus on the Air Domain. Our team of highly qualified and experienced engineers offer a full range of structural integrity engineering services including design, loads and stress analysis, fatigue and damage tolerance analysis, vibration and aero elasticity assessment, numerical modelling, data management and analysis, risk analysis, software development, certification basis assessment and development of Instructions for Continued Airworthiness.
