Val.Ai is on the hunt for a Tech Lead to join our founding team.

We've built some novel tech, we're in a growth phase and are looking for someone who already has some experience leading teams or is ready to take that next step with us.

As a DevOps engineer you will be an IT generalist who has a wide-ranging knowledge of both development and operations, including coding, infrastructure management, system administration, and DevOps toolchains.

You'll be responsible for the design, build and maintenance of product and platform services, and infrastructure that powers Val.Ai.

This is a role with broad technical responsibilities across our product. You will play a key role in shaping the Val.Ai technologies. Using your programming expertise and deep understanding of modern web architectures and distributed systems, you will help future-proof our founding product by designing, implementing, integrating, tuning and issue resolution for the deployment to market.

As the key software architect in the Val.Ai team you’ll be comfortable with the following:

- Lead and implement software architecture
- Manage the technology stack in line with AWS cloud infrastructure
- Access, develop and utilise APIs
- Manage third-party services
- Write key internal software documentation
- Manage the technical team as it grows
- Set the standard for code quality and being ultimately responsible for the on-time on-budget delivery of the technical components of the projects you are leading
- Actively contributing to our code review, testing, release, backup processes
- Assisting with productisation of our proprietary code libraries and solutions
- Identifying and correcting bottlenecks and fixing bugs, triaging tasks where expected
- Collaborate with Founders, CE, and Product Lead on quotes, proposals and presentations
- Actively communicating with project stakeholders
- Actively review and trial new technologies that may be relevant to our work.

Startup experience would be looked on favourably. You will have both hard and soft skills to contribute to our team.

The position is offered with the following perks:

- 20 days leave per year and other statutory entitlements plus flexible hours if required
- Salary package north of $100k and (for the right person) the opportunity to earn into company ownership.
