**About the role**:
The Compliance Officer undertakes regulatory activities in relation to the regulation of water in Victoria as well as to various health regulatory domains. Working across the different sectors, the Compliance Officer will use their knowledge and experience to support and administer the team's technical and regulatory functions and monitor and enforce compliance in accordance with the relevant legislation; _Safe Drinking Water Act 2003, Safe Drinking Water Regulations 2015, Health (Fluoridation) Act 1973 _and the _Public Health and Wellbeing Regulations 2019._

**About you**:
- Interested in working in a dynamic regulatory environment, taking a risk-based approach to compliance and investigation and appropriate regulatory action in relation to health-focused water regulation.
- Keen to provide input into development of regulatory responses to address emerging issues in the water sector and areas of risk for government, department and the community.
- Able to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities with the ability to meet deadlines while working in fast paced and high-pressured situations.
- Certificate IV in Government Investigations and an additional tertiary qualification in a relevant field (regulation, law, engineering, science, toxicology, health risk assessments and public health; or other relevant science qualifications) would be highly regarded.
- Knowledge in water quality risk management principles and approaches, water treatment plants and ability to analyse and interpret microbiological, chemical and other water quality data would be desirable.
