**Join Our Team as the Head of Trade (Food) at Metcash**

**About This Role**

As the Head of Trade for Food, you will lead and engage high performance trading teams who will source and negotiate the best deals with national and local suppliers based on Channel Strategies.

**What you’ll do**:

- Lead transformational approaches to Category planning and execution that deliver wholesale sales, income budget and improvements in COGs for retailers.
- Win share by expanding range into high growth segments, combined with delivering best in market wholesale pricing.
- Set strategic agenda and partner with Suppliers to meet collective Channel needs on range, price, promotion, brand and store compliance, leveraging volumes during negotiations.
- Collaborate and partner with Channel and State teams to embed new ways of working fuelled by Shopper, Retailer and Metcash outcomes.
- Enable the highest standards of execution and rewarding behaviour that drives network growth.

**What you’ll bring**:

- Business leader with 10+ years in a commercial leadership role
- Commercial acumen with intimate knowledge of the drivers of success in a Category P&L
- Part of a leadership team in strategy creation and planning, strong leader with a track record of delivering commercial outcomes, continuous improvement, change and growth initiatives.
- Set strategic agenda and partner with Suppliers to meet collective Channel needs on range, price, promotion, brand and store compliance, leveraging volumes during negotiations.
- Tenacious, innovative and proven negotiation skills that build partnerships with suppliers for mutual growth.
