An Australian born independent womenswear label with a global presence. This position will play a pivotal role in driving forward and securing the health of the business’s commercial and brand outcomes. Reporting to the COO, you will drive profitability across all areas of the business, through continuous improvement and overall organizational effectiveness. This role has a people and operations focus, fostering a supportive, positive and performance driven culture.
As General Manager, you will be responsible for creating alignment between all departments to ensure that the business is able to deliver consistent performance, profitability, and consumer engagement across all touch points.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Lead and mentor senior team members to nurture a team of efficient experts, with a commercial focus and strong problem-solving skills.
- Provide ongoing, daily leadership to senior team acting as the first escalation point when issues arise.
- Coordinate and align senior team members around the company’s short
- and long-term vision and strategy, ensuring they are subsequently able to endorse or take down directives to all levels.
- Create a balanced and consistent employee experience, focused on inspiring and recognizing optimal performance whilst delivering to performance benchmarks.
- Consult with COO as required to restructure, relocate, or exit any ream members that are not aligned to the brand’s strategy or objectives.
- Support business growth by introducing good process (sustainable and repeatable) across the business.
- Work with COO to ensure company timelines / critical path is built to deliver planned product categories aligned with brand strategy.
- Constantly review business progress against company critical path, ensuring that all departments can adhere to company timeline.
- Oversee weekly Warehouse Arrival Schedule Meeting ensuring that launch plan timelines can be achieved and that the workload of all relevant departments is maintained at a sustainable level.
- Acting as the key contact for ERP system (Apparel 21), managing any process or system issues with senior leadership as these arise, and ensuring that the business is using all functions available to maximize company efficiency.
- Oversee the day-to-day use of HR platform Employment Hero - running staff surveys, ensuring payroll is maintained etc.
- Alongside COO and Director, lead Seasonal Trade Reviews to provide strategic input and feedback so as to inform future decisions. Ensure all reporting / notes are captured, that action points are distributed / implemented by wider team.
- Alongside the COO, set the monthly and seasonal trade calendar in alignment with objectives of other relevant stakeholders and performance benchmarks.
- Work closely with Merchandising team to ensure stock holdings are maintained at an efficient level, with greige / fabric holdings maintained with CMT factories in order to allow in-season re-ordering so that the business can act reactively based on in-season sell through.
- Oversee all commercial budgeting responsibilities including P&L management, daily and weekly sales phasing, setting promotional targets etc.
- Work closely with Head of Ecommerce and Head of Marketing to set monthly Marketing Calendar along with a proposed promotional plan for sign-off by COO.
- Ongoing management of department expense budgets to determine spend and measure performance.
- Maintain close relationships with all major wholesale buyers working closely with Head of Wholesale, including negotiating retailer agreements, opening new doors, shifting product strategy etc.
- Oversee feedback loop from Customer Service / Wholesale / Online Returns teams to ensure that any customer complaints are being addressed and that returns feedback flows through to relevant departments (Ie. Design, QC, Production, Ecom etc.).
- Responsible for completing seasonal costing reviews with Head of Design / Design Room Manager to align on RRPs to achieve margin targets whilst ensuring pricing architecture is maintained
**EXPERIENCE**
- Knowledge of the market / fashion space / competitors.
- Ability to navigate retail systems to obtain relevant information that will support strategy (Ie.Apparel 21, the Retail Score, Style Arcade, Shopify, JOOR etc.).
- Effective stakeholder engagement - ability to motivate team, manage workloads and ensure continued business positive output.
- Ability to successfully manage the pace and competing priorities of a high growth business

**Salary**: Up to $250,000.00 per year
