**What is Ready Reader?**
Ready Reader is a non-profit that aims to close the literacy gap for five to seven year olds across Australia who read below grade level. Ready Reader places pre-service teachers in primary schools to provide one-on-one, in-classroom support for selected Preps to Grade 2s.
As the Chief Operations Officer for Pre Service Teachers, you will work alongside the Ready Reader leadership team to:
- strengthen support systems for pre service teachers to ensure effective service delivery
- implement a range of administration and business support systems
- develop and provide strategic leadership to a team of Operations Officers
- reinforce Ready Reader’s values through meaningful, effective, and considered performance
This is a volunteer role to support Ready Reader pre-service teachers and students - this is not a paid position.
**Role requirements**
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Self motivated and able to work autonomously
- Teamwork and the ability to collaborate with others
- A desire to be surrounded by a talented and passionate community of volunteers
- A passion for helping both primary and tertiary school students thrive
**Time Commitments**: Approximately 1.5 hours a week, including a fortnightly online leadership team meeting.
**Location**: This role can be performed virtually, with some in person events throughout the year.
**Job Type**: Volunteer
**Salary**: $1.00 per year
