Reporting into the General Manager of Sales + Events, you’ll be part of a continually growing team of passionate and experienced professionals. This role provides huge potential for growth into a more senior role for the right applicant who is seeking a career move into a very positive culture company.
This role is available for an immediate start with a 6 month probation period and is a great opportunity for someone with proven sales or operational experience within the hospitality &/or events world. You’ll want more than just a job and have a genuine passion for building positive client and colleague relationships. All training is provided in our menus, products & systems with great exposure to all areas of the business in your first few weeks upon joining.

**Overview of Role**:Flavours Catering + Events are seeking a proactive and organized Event Coordinator/Manager to join our dynamic team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the hospitality catering industry and develop essential administrative and operational skills.
We are looking for someone willing to learn all areas of our business and become a valued part of our team for this integral role.
**Key Responsibilities**:

- As one of the first points of contact for our business, your exceptional customer service skills will be paramount.
- Essentially, this role is open to anyone who is a great communicator that loves assisting customers.
- The role on offer is available as a Coordinator for someone early in their career or for a Manager for the more experienced applicant.
- Someone who loves working in a team environment that strives for exceptional results.
- You might have an operational background wanting to make the move to a more office based role. Or someone looking for better work life balance, keen get away from weekend and night work.
- No matter your background, you will need strong organisational skills, an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and always think a step ahead.
- You need to have a confident and friendly approach with professionalism in your customer service, willingness to get involved, learn and contribute to a harmonious hard working team.
**List of Duties**:
- Creating catering and event quotes to suit client’s brief
- Confirming won business, issuing confirmation bookings
- Following up initial payments for confirmed business
- Entering and amending catering orders per clients requirements
- Event managing: creating run sheets, client and supplier liaison, interdepartmental team work,
- Working closely with other departments (Dispatch, Scheduling, Chefs, Operations, Senior Management) with focus on team work
**Skills and Qualifications**:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, Event Management, or hands on experience in related field.
- Computer literate with basic knowledge of Mac OS and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work well under pressure, with good problem-solving skills.
- Sales experience with a real passion for winning business
- Positive, friendly, can-do attitude
- An outcome driven approach to performance and results
- Genuine, enthusiastic, professional customer service
- Well-developed time management and prioritising skills
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail
- Great energy, professional presentation, high hygiene standards
- Fluent English and great communication skills
- Valid and current RSA certification
**Skills and Qualifications (Desirable but not essential)**:
- Confident driver with valid current drivers license
- Experience in food, beverage, event service either floor &/or bar
